From the moment I first heard the country swagger swirl through the air at the EMV event Corey and I attended before summer, saw the rugged and handsome man standing before the microphone before belting out a tune that later would stick in my head for hours. I knew upon meeting rising Indie music sensation Codie Prevost, I was listening to a star!
In September 2012 The Canadian Country Music Association drew the attention of Codie Prevost who grew up in Saskatchewan. Codie was nominated for Rising Star for the second year running, and was also bestowed the honor of being able to arrive on the event’s green carport in a somewhat unique way — aboard a John Deere 9410R Tractor that made my hubby FD drool a little to help celebrate John Deere’s 175th anniversary.
“This has been such a fun evening. I am so honored to be nominated for the ‘Rising Star’ award two years in a row. I have an amazing team, dedicated fans and am truly grateful for all the opportunities that have come my way. I’m a country boy through and through, and country music is such a big part of who I am”, says Prevost, enjoying the festivities at a CCMA after party.
Codie is a four time Saskatchewan Country Music Association Awards “Entertainer of the Year” and is no stranger to success. He’s opened for the Oakridge Boys, Joe Nichols and Emerson Drive, some of my favorite country bands. He has also been featured on ET Canada (YouTube) and has performed on the main stage at major country music festivals including Dauphin Countryfest, Craven Country Jamboree, VIEX and the Havelock Country Jamboree. At these events, he performed alongside such names as Reba, Kenny Chesney, Gretchen Wilson and Kevin Costner.
Codie has a new CD out just in time for the holidays and would make a great stocking stuffer for anyone who loves country, rock, jamming good upbeat fun music. Get Loud is available in stores now and it’s currently in my van’s CD player because I listen to it everywhere we go!
FD and Codie rocking away!
When we met Codie he was so down to earth, extremely pleasant and really knows how to interact with people, never treating anyone like they are beneath him. He even encouraged FD to get up and sing with him at the EMV event which was like a dream for hubby.
Codie recorded his new album “Get Loud” in my hometown of Vancouver and each track is amazing. My absolutely favorite song is Honky Tonk Groupie, and Rolling Back To You. Codie is currently working on his fourth studio album to be released in 2013 and I can’t wait for it.
