Lost’s Carlton Cruse is back at it, ready to draw us in and keep us on the edge of our seats with his new series from A&E called Bates Motel.
This made for television drama is not the recreation of Psycho, It’s the re-imagining of it. With an all start cast including Freddy Highmore (whom I love) as a young seventeen year old Norman Bates. Vera Farmiga is mother (Norma Bates), sleek and sensual and drawing in the attention of the men in town. Dylan Massett as Max, Norman’s half-brother, Vera’s older son from her first marriage and a whole slew of unforgettable actors and actresses combined.
Bates Motel is not a horror. It’s a thriller/drama centered around Norma and her son Norman the proud new owners of the Bates Motel in Pine Bay, a town with its own secrets to keep. The trailer looks awesome!
Bates Motel is the pre-quel to Psycho. Fans will have access to the dark, twisted back story and learn first hand just how deeply intricate Norman’s relationship with his mother, Norma, truly is and how she helped forge the most famous serial killer of them all — A&E Insider About Bates Motel
I don’t know about you, but I cannot wait to watch this! Psycho is one of my all time favorite Hitchcock films of all time. I love Norman’s character and always have, because you always felt a little sorry for him and his ties to MOTHER. This series should be great, and because it’s on A&E chances of cancellation are slim to none.
Bates Motel airs on A&E March 18, 2013 so be sure to set your PVR’s for this one. I think it’s going to be great, intriguing and edge of your seat great writing!
